Montecito Restaurant Brand Identity

Inspired by the stunning Santa Barbara coastline of California and the luxury estates that call that part of the world home, Montecito Restaurant delivers a rich taste of elegant west coast living to the Entertainment District of Toronto.

This collaboration with Hollywood icon Ivan Reitman and New York City’s Celebrity Chef Jonathan Waxman offers a classically aligned pallet of materials that is designed to establish a warm and intimate guest experience.

Santa Barbara’s sublime coastline and foothills provided all the inspiration.

A light and approachable brand identity was designed to emulate the soft and relaxed California coastal vibe.

The identity embodies the sentiment and personality of that quick illustration one would sketch as they stop amidst the breezy drive along side the Southern California coast. The Cypress Tree refers to a much-loved tree that resides on Ivan Reitman’s Montecito property.

The identity was applied to house wine labels, with several bold red wines stemming from California’s famous valley.

An eclectic artifacting program was developed, paying tribute to Ivan Reitman’s notable Hollywood career.
The Montecito Restaurant brand identity’s distinctive artistic quality is reflected in the unique custom hand engraved exterior sign.
