At the intersection of Soho’s storied past and Hudson Square’s creative future, TOOR Hotel Soho rises as an urban sanctuary, an oasis within the city grid. Following the celebrated success of TOOR Hotel Toronto, Manga Hotel Group once again partnered with mackaywong to bring their next JdV by Hyatt destination to life. Here, architectural precision meets organic calm, offering a hospitality experience that captures New York’s rhythm while creating space to pause, breathe, and reconnect.
Set within the cast-iron facades and cobblestone streets of lower Manhattan, TOOR Hotel Soho draws deeply from its surroundings, an area that has long defined New York’s cultural pulse. The design narrative began with a simple yet powerful idea: to create balance. To craft a series of spaces that feel both grounded in the energy of the city and removed from it; spaces where geometry and greenery, rhythm and refuge, coexist in harmony.
Inspired by Soho’s industrial heritage and its reputation as a greenhouse for creativity, the design reinterprets the neighbourhood’s iconic architectural language through a contemporary lens. Glass, iron, and light form the framework for an interior that feels at once structured and soft. The lobby, grab n’ go coffee bar Muse Bistro, and L’Orangery courtyard lounge unfold as connected moments within an “urban conservatory”, each space layered with texture, pattern, and material warmth that echo the rigor of the city grid while introducing human-scale intimacy and connection.
At street level, the arrival experience sets a tone of understated sophistication. The lobby’s terrazzo floors, brass accents, and bespoke art moments, including a live moss wall map of Soho, create a dialogue between old and new, nature and structure. Muse Bistro extends this rhythm, merging morning calm with evening vibrancy through a palette of brushed metals, jewel-toned upholstery, and curated lighting. Warm woods are used throughout to contrast the airiness of the feature floral mural. Beyond, L’Orangery opens to the light, an indoor-outdoor dining retreat framed by greenhouse-inspired millwork and lush greenery.
Above it all, the 19th-floor rooftop patio offers guests a rare perspective: an open-air lounge where the skyline stretches endlessly and the pace of the city fades into the horizon.
From the architecture to the smallest tactile detail, every element of the TOOR Hotel Soho is designed to celebrate contrast, vitality and stillness, structure and softness, urban edge and organic grace. As part of the JdV by Hyatt collection, the property reflects the brand’s ethos of individuality and place, translating the spirit of Soho into a hospitality experience that feels unmistakably local, refreshingly modern, and deeply human.
