With chef Claudio Aprile’s first two locations established, our design objective was to build upon the brand and position it to suit the clientele of Bayview Village.
Our intention was to create an intimate yet wide open environment in a food-focused setting. The central bar anchors the plan and frames the open kitchen behind. We employed large open-frame metal and wood screens to create rooms within rooms and increased the residential feel to make the ambiance more at home and cozy with the use of lounge furniture, leather wrapped chairs and button tufted banquettes. Lighting plays a dominant role, as our palate of materials is very simple and limited to wood, black leather and concrete floor. The custom light fixtures create a soft warm incandescent glow reinforcing the moody urban atmosphere. Above the central bar the double beams frame the area and link it to the entry and stairs below.
