Housed in the beautiful historic landmark Samuel F. Carter building, the JW Marriott Houston Downtown is the brand’s first adaptive reuse project in Texas, celebrating the flavor of the city with refined design, intuitive service and thoughtful amenities that have become synonymous with the brand worldwide. mackaywong was selected to design artfully crafted environments that drew their inspiration from the building’s heritage structure and local creative culture. Our scope included designs for the Lobby, Art Gallery, 806 Main Street Kitchen Restaurant, Business and Meeting Spaces, Banquette Halls and Executive Lounge. Located at 806 Main St., the hotel features 323 guest rooms, this property has become a sensation in the Texan hospitality landscape.
